Brooklyn Faith Loses to Voice of Hope

 Game 3 of the night at Nazareth Gym featured Voice of Hope vs. Brooklyn Faith. Voice of Hope was coming in with a loss following their 1st game whereas Brooklyn Faith was coming in with a win. Both teams were eager to get one in the win column.

 

As the half started neither team was able to capitalize on their early opportunities to score. Both teams missed baskets did not complete their plays or follow their shots. The teams traded baskets under each others nets. With 13 minutes on the clock Brooklyn Faith made a jump shot that went in to finally get on the scoreboard. Voice of Hope responded with a layup with 12:06 on the clock to tie the game. The game pace was fast with the play at times appearing to be uncontrolled. The score was close as teams traded baskets, each team came within 1 pt of each other’s scores and the lead changed hands a number of times. At the half Brooklyn Faith was in the lead by 3 points. Half time score Voice of Hope – 16 Brooklyn Faith – 19.

 

 As the second half started the game continued to be a 1-3 point game. With 14:51 on the clock Voice of Hope made a 3 pointer that placed them in the lead by 1 point. And then they slowly started to pull away, increasing the lead to 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and then 12 points with 10:10 on the clock. Brooklyn Faith could not get any momentum going, they loss valuable points because of their inability to make their foul shots and follow through on their plays. Voice of Hope continued to pull out increasing the lead to 17, 19 then 22 points. In the 2nd minute a technical foul was called against Voice of Hope and Brooklyn Faith made both baskets cutting the lead to 20 points. Brooklyn Faith could not erase the huge scoring deficit in the time remaining and the game ended with Voice of Hope the winners. Final score Voice of Hope – 50, Brooklyn Faith - 31
